Avid Technology Announces Availability of Alienbrain Studio 7.1
Avid Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: AVID), a provider of digital nonlinear media creation, management, and distribution solutions, today announced the worldwide availability of Avid® Alienbrain® Studio 7.1 asset management software, offering increased support for creative teams developing CG games, 3D simulation programs, and animated film projects.
Alienbrain Studio 7.1, having new and enhanced features, now enables CG professionals to work more productively by delivering faster previews, expanded help and search capabilities, and improvements for remote collaboration.
"Many studios continue to look for best-of-breed tools that offer a simple, visual way to streamline workflow and collaboration for development teams,” said Gregor vom Scheidt, managing director at Avid with responsibility for the Alienbrain product line. “With Alienbrain Studio 7.1, we've addressed this need with enhancements that make it easier for artists, programmers and technical directors to work from multiple locations while efficiently managing all of the media-rich assets they create. While maintaining support for a wide range of competitive digital content creation tools, we've also strengthened the interoperability of the Avid Computer Graphics production pipeline by making the Alienbrain user interface available as an embedded view within SOFTIMAGE®|XSI® software. As a result, we're giving CG professionals access to the most robust and open asset management system on the market."
Alienbrain Studio 7.1 software stores, versions, and tracks assets in a central location, as well as offers plug-ins for the leading 3D, 2D and programming pipeline tools. What's more, Alienbrain Studio 7.1 offers the option for content creators - working either remotely or locally - to access files simultaneously, checking out and merging assets based on previous versions in the history. The software also incorporates context-sensitive help options, making it easy for users to reference the subject matter that is of most interest to them.
