Del.icio.us Releases Beta Bookmarks Extension For IE
Point and laugh if you must, but a lot of people still use Internet Explorer as their main browser. Del.icio.us users are no exception, and a new bookmarks extension will cater to this crowd.
As a Yahoo spokesperson noted in an email to WebProNews, this marks the first time Del.icio.us has provided an extension for IE, and it should behave similarly to existing Firefox extensions, "including full del.icio.us sidebar and toolbar implementation."
The extension is only in beta, and an early beta at that, but it's an interesting development just the same. Vista's sales are increasing as people grudgingly upgrade. IE's market share is on the rise after sinking for a while. Del.icio.us's embrace of such a popular browser doesn't show any great insight, yet at the same time, it seems to be picking up on a pro-Microsoft (or at least Microsoft-favoring) trend.
And this is occurring even after Microsoft failed to acquire Del.icio.us along with the rest of Yahoo, of course.
Should you decide to download the IE extension, a Yahoo Group has been set up so that you can also provide feedback. Pointing and laughing probably won't occur within its virtual walls.
