1. Begin by hitting D on your keyboard to reset your colors. Find a cool font to use, I used Dimentia.
2. Font settings.
3. Next, go to layer>type>convert to shape.
4. Enter free transform mode (Ctrl+T), right click and select perspective. You can also use skew or any other transform option.
5. Give your text a cool looking angle that will be suitable for a 3D effect.
6. Now for the fun part. With your text/shape selected, hit Ctrl+Alt+Down Arrow so it copies that layer and nudges it down 1 pixel. Do this 25-35 times until you have your desired thickness. Your layer palette will look like this.
7. What you need to do next is highlight every single layer EXCEPT for the bottom most layer (the original one), like so:
8. Merge all the selected layers (Ctrl+E) and then move that layer below the original layer that was not included in the merge.
9. On your newly made layer (all of the merges), apply these blending mode settings.
Drop shadow:
10. Gradient overlay:
11. Stroke:
12. For the top layer that was excluded in the merging, apply a color overlay of #ff0000 and a bevel & emboss with a size around 40px.
13. Finally, you may add a subtle background gradient. Make this new layer for the gradient just above your background layer (or you may give the background layer itself a gradient).
14. There you go! Quick and great looking 3D text. I hope you enjoyed this tutorial.
