Step 1: Today we are going to make an interface design. This are usually nice when you have a splah page, or can even be used to make your whole website. So lets start by opening a 400 by 400 page document. Color in the background black. We are going to work today with the ellpiticall marquee tool. So make a new layer and draw out a circle. Make the circle what ever size you want your orb to be. Once you have that color it what ever color you want. After you have done so you will want to make it into a gradient that corresponds to the background color, which in this case is dark. So I have made a gradient with three colors. Black which is 000000 then greyish black 191919 and then black again which is 000000,
tep 2: Now that you have done so make a new layer then make a smaller circle inside that circle. Color it in grey as well with the hex color 181818. No once again make a smaller circle inside that circle. This will be your main orb so color it in the color blue or green because those are nice orb colors. I used 94B300.
Step 3: Were going to make the actuall orb right now. So duplicate the green circle you just made by going to layer/duplicate layer. Go to layer/layer style/blending options. You will give this a gradient. Make one side the same color as the orb, and the other side the color white.
Now that you have done that you will have to resize the white and green circle. So go to edit/transform/scale. Make the shape of it into a egg shape.
Just change the opacity of the layer to %55.
Step 4: This is where the fun part comes in. Go to layer/merge all layers. This makes everything into one single layer. We are going to play around with the dodge and burn tools. Grab the burn tool first. Make sure the brushe size is about 65 pixels. The range should be at shadows and the exposure to about %50. Take the burn tool and go over the areas that you want to be dark. You will use the dodge tool to go over areas you want to be light.
Now dodge the lighter areas. The brush should still be at 65 pixels. The range should be at highlights and exposure should be at %60.
Step 5: Now grab the text tool and write what ever you want across the orb. Make the font about 72. I made mines the color A1C400.
fter you have written this go to layer/layer style/blending options. Then give it the following settings.
You should have this now.
Step 5:Go to layer/merge all layers again. Now grab the burn and dodge tools and do the same thing that you did with the orb to the text. Make the top lighter, and bottom darker.
The last thing to do is to blur the whole thing. When you dodge and burn it makes it all rough. So just go to filter/blur/blur. Your done you have your interface design.
