1. Create a new 1000x1000 pixels document with a black background. Use the "Single Column Marquee" tool (M) to create a selection of a 1 pixel line and fill the selection with white on a new layer. |

2. Scale the line's height to 50% using the "Transform" tool (Ctrl+T). |

3. In the "Actions" pallet (Window> Actions), create a new action and specify a "Function Key". Press Record. |
