Watermelon Vector

Step 1: Today I will teach you how to make a vector watermelon. In order to do this tutorial you have to know the basics of the pen tool. So now that we have that out the way, open up a new document size 400 by 400. Create a new layer. Then grab the elliptical marquee tool and draw out a slanted circle. Then color it in the color 86D300 for now. Then grab the rectangular marquee tool and cut that circle in half.

Step 2: Now that you have that done go to layer/duplicate layer. Now there is two of the same shapes. The shape that you just duplicated you will have to change the color of it. So go to layer/layer style/blending options/ color. Give it a color of FFFFE0 and move that shape up just a little bit so the green part is showing under.

Once again duplicate this layer now. Repeate step two once again, but this time make the color FF4444. This time move the shape up so the yellow part is showing. The part thats overlapping on top you can just cut off using the marquee tool.

A watermelon is not a perfect circle. So what we have to do where the red part is, is make a wavy line going through it so it looks like a actual watermelon. We are going to do this with the pen tool. So go head and draw out your lining.Then go to windows/path/right click on the path/make selection. Then cut it out.

Step 3: Grab the eraser tool with the size of 200px. Then slightly erase around the part where you just cut.

Step 4:Now its time to make the seeds. We will make this using the pen tool as well. You will want to draw out the sides from top to bottom, going in a circular line.

So start drawing out your seeds and just color them in black for now. When using the pen tool it helps if you zoom in to make smaller shapes.

The last step is to duplicate the red part of the watermelon. Then go to layer/layer style/blending options and then go to color. Make it white. The next part is to grab the pen tool and make a wavy shape going right through it and spliting it in half. So then select that shape and cut it in half. Then set the opacity of the white part to about 13%.

And there you have it you have your vector watermelon, congratulations.
