3 Simple Tutorials

Tutorial 1

Create a new file. Fill the background with #870000.

Create this gradient :

Type any text of your choice. I have used VAG Rounded font having 120 point size. Rasterize the font layer and fill the text layer after selecting it (clicking on its layer name in layer palette).

Press "D" to change the foreground and background color back to black and white. Go to filter>Distort>ocean Ripple :

Press control+f for 4-5 times. Our grunge text is ready :)

Tutorial 2

Create a new file. Fill the background with #870000. Use Rectangle tool to draw the shape.

Rasterize the layer and go to filter>blur>Gaussian Blur. Set the radius to 5 pixels.

Press control+e to merge the layer with background layer. Apply Ocean Ripple filter for 3 times with similar settings as in the first tutorial. Our Grunge Frame is ready :)

Tutorial 3

Create a new file. Create this gradient.

Fill the background as shown:

Apply Ocean Ripple filter with similar settings as we applied in previous tutorials. Apply this for 9 times. (First apply the filter and than press control+f to reapply the filter.)

Go to filter>Artistic>Plastic Wrap.

Again apply Ocean Ripple filter for 9 times.

Finally, go to image>Rotate Canvas>Flip canvas Vertical. Our nice looking water splash effect is ready :)
