This tutorial with guide you through how to make a nice Abstract Wallpaper:
1. Open Photoshop and create a new document. I'm using 1024x768.
2. Set the Colours to White and Black like this:
3. Set the Gradient Tool to these settings:
4. Now go crazy with the Gradient Tool on the Canvas, do around 50 or 60 strokes.
5. Duplicate this layer and press Ctrl + U
6. Tick the colourize and set to a colour of your choice.
7. Set the Blending Mode to Overlay
8. Create a new layer and do the same again. Go crazy with the gradient tool and set the colour of the layer to another colour not using Ctrl + U. Set this layers Blending Mode to Overlay.
9. Repeat step 8 2 or 3 more times
10. Now on Layers 2, 3, 4 and 5 go to Filter >> Render >> Difference Clouds. You will have to do these one by one. Render these clouds twice for each of these layers
11. Create a new layer and fill with White, set the Blending Mode to Soft Light
12. Create a new layer and go crazy with the Gradient Tool again.
13. Go to Filter >> Render >> Lens Flare
14. Set to 105mm Prime with brightness set to 100%
15. Repeat this 2 more times, but don't use Ctrl + F as this will put another Lens Flare on top of the other one, this is not what we want, So go through to Filter >> Render >> Lens Flare and place the Flare in a different place.
16. Once you have done that go to Filter >> Sketch >> Chrome
17. Set it to:
Detail: 5
Smoothness: 10
18. Go to Filter >> Blur >> Gaussian Blur and set to 2px
19. Now set the layers Blending Mode to Vivid Light
