Customized Website or Template Website. That is the Question!
The question I always get in my blog is should I get a customized website or should I get a template website. Which one should I get?
Before I could answer such a complicated question, I had to ask are you creating a website for a brick and mortar company or for a squeeze page?
Customized websites require lots of coding and is going to be the best setup for a brick and mortar type of website...one that sales products on the web. The template will work fine for just creating squeeze pages.
For the later, use a free template because you won't be in business long so don't waste your money on an expensive customized website.
For the brick and mortar type of website, you need to go ahead and spend the money for good hosting and custom website creation. Your site will look professional and it will make the sales you are wanting. Good hosting will run you around $25 a month.
Remember, you are paying just to have the site created for you. Now that you have a site created, you have to worry about hosting issues, payment processing issues and the list goes.
Hosting is required for every website. This is what makes the website live on the net. Without hosting, you don't have a website!
And you thought all you had to do was come up with a name and this web thing would be easy! Wrong! (not really, it is a simple yet complex program). The question now is who do I get to host my site. Remember that a good hosting package will run you around $25 a month.
Google, Yahoo, MSN, and all the other search engines hate duplicated content. And now as of 1st of January our original question becomes a no brainer. You have to have a customized website.
The search engines are always looking for duplicate content to ban. On the 1st of January, they slapped thousands of website templates. You see a template could be used hundreds of thousands of times and now the search engines are reading those as duplicate material. Even though the verbage may be different, the program is the same.
What does that really mean? It means if you have a website that you create using a template, you will never, never ever, be able to make it optimized! You can pay thousands of dollars for pay-per-clicks, SEO engineers, etc. and your site will not be in the top 10 of any search engine.
Now you know that the only way to be optimized on the web is to have a customized website, but who do you get to build this site for you and just how much is it going to cost you? I have that answer as well for you. The company I use is not only willing to build your site, but they will host your site and even pay for your domain name. All you have to do is pay for your hosting and create (type up) what you want your site to say.
Now you ask how much do they charge? Well I have paid in excess of $5,000 for some of my sites with this company and they do an excellent job. Now I am blown away at what Randall is offering to all new clients (that does not include me!) For a limited time Randall and his team is offering new hosting clients a free customized website!
You heard me right. What he was charging me in excess of $5,000 he is giving all new paid hosting clients a completely free customized website. I have begged him not to do this because I know he will be swamped with new customers and he won't have time to listen to me complain about Google. (Maybe that is why he is doing this...you think!)
So the conclusion for this article is you don't really have a choice anymore. If you want your site to be optimized, you have to get a customized website. Now you have the answer, now what are you going to do about it!
